Meet Our Staff

After

School of Dentistry. He continued his education at the Medical College
of Georgia, achieving a specialty certificate in Prosthodontics &
Maxillofacial Prosthetics. He began private practice in 1988 while
completing extensive training in implant dentistry at the renowned Misch
Implant Institute (Pittsburgh), where he was awarded Fellowship status.
Dr.
Tharp is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of
Prosthodontics and a Fellow in both the International Congress of Oral
Implantologists and American College of Prosthodontists. He is a member
of the American Dental Association and Mississippi Dental Association as
well. Regarded nationwide for his knowledge in the dental profession,
Dr. Tharp is a frequent speaker to dentists and the public on issues
regarding oral health and aesthetics.
Dr. Tharp is supported by staff members who are equally committed to the
high level of patient care to which his practice is dedicated. They
continually broaden their knowledge and skills in implant, restorative,
and aesthetic dentistry through completion of advanced courses. As a
team, they strive to make each visit a pleasant experience where your
comfort and satisfaction are high priorities.
What is
a Prosthodontist?
A
Prosthodontist specializes in restoring teeth and creating
natural-looking replacement teeth. A Prosthodontist can also achieve an
elevated level of results through cosmetic dental enhancements. Their
specialized skills are particularly beneficial to those who desire the
most natural smile possible as well as those who are missing teeth.
Other
areas of emphasis are the proper alignment of teeth and jaws to create a
comfortable bite. People who are born with a cleft palate and those who
suffer from jaw joint disorders (TMJ Disorder) benefit greatly from the
advanced training of a Prosthodontist.

Dr.
Michelle Crews is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of
Dentistry. Throughout her dental training, she was involved in extensive
studies pertaining to tobacco dependence and its relationship to oral
health.
Dr.
Crews completed extensive training to become a certified provider of
Invisalign® and
Lumineers®. Additionally, she has
held offices in numerous dental organizations, including serving as
2007-2008 President of the Mississippi Association of Women Dentists.
Annually,
Dr. Crews offers her dental services to Russian children in need through
the program, “All God’s Children”. In addition to community involvement,
she holds membership in the American Dental Association, the Academy of
General Dentistry, the Mississippi Dental Association, the American
Association of Women Dentists, the American Academy of Implant
Dentistry, and the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Crews
is also a charter member of the Mississippi Association of Cosmetic
Dentistry.
Dr.
Michelle Crews earned Fellowship status in The International Congress of
Oral Implantologists (ICOI) on November 4, 2010.
The
awarding of Fellowship status is an honor which a professional society
such as the ICOI bestows on a dental professional involved in dental
implant treatment. The ICOI has a Fellowship program in which active
members are encouraged to achieve Fellowship status through their
efforts in education, research and actual clinical experience. All
Fellows of the ICOI may choose to list the designation 'FICOI" after
their names.
The
International Congress of Oral Implantologists is a tax-exempt,
non-profit, worldwide dental educational organization. It is dedicated
to communicating scientific knowledge and improving the clinical
practice of dental implantology worldwide. The ICOI has public
information programs, publishes a bimonthly journal and a quarterly
newsletter. It conducts numerous scientific symposia each year and
supports research and education through its Implant Dentistry Research
and Education Foundation (IDREF).
